New user here, working on a layout issue. I’m not sure what terms I need to search for my answer, so I’ll describe what I’m trying to achieve. I’m working on a solo guitar arrangement. What I like to do is first present it in both standard notation and TAB. After that, within the same file, I like to show just the standard notation for those who prefer to read the standard notation without the clutter of the TAB below it.
In Finale, I had to create an entirely new section, copying and pasting the standard notation line from the “standard and TAB” section. I suspect there is a less time consuming approach with Dorico. Is it possible to create a “standard notation only” section that is linked to the “standard and TAB” section? It would be really handy to be able to go back and make edits in one section and have them appear in both sections.
If the answer is to create a separate part as you would from any full score, can the full score (standard and TAB) and the part (notation only) be compiled into one PDF within Dorico, or would I have to create two separate PDFs and put them together in a PDF editor?

In the first minute of the video you will find the explanation of the layout options to show notation, notation and Tab, or just tab.
To get what you are asking for, you would only need to create/add a new Lay out (in setup mode) and set the desire options.
In other words, in one layout you would choose to show Notation and Tab, and in the other layout you would choose to show just the Notation.
Both layouts are just two different presentations of the same music (same data), so the changes you make in the music will be shown in both Layouts.
As others have said, you can’t do this within a single layout, as the same player will always have the same settings for how notation and/or tab should appear throughout the layout. Depending on which way you want to handle this, you could create a second guitar player in your project and set that one to only show notation, create a second flow, assign one player to the first and the other to the second, and then copy the music from the guitar showing tab in flow 1 to the guitar showing only notation in flow 2.
Then of course you have the issue that you have to manage the changes in flow 1 vs flow 2 yourself, so it’s swings and roundabouts whether combining two layouts into a single PDF or copying and pasting music from one flow to the other is more convenient.
