Hi there,
i prepare to switch from Logic Pro 11 to Nuendo 14 /cubase and set up my regular shortcuts.
I couldn’t find one very important shortcut for me in Nuendo, its events shuffle to next event. In Logic one can choose to shuffle the selection to left or right events.
In Nuendo I could do the same function with shuffle mode activated, but manually. I didn’t found the shortcut for this function.
Did someone know if there is are shortcuts for this in Nuendo?
I’ve uploaded a video where the function is shown in Logic and Nuendo.
Btw, in the video one can see when I select multiple events in Nuendo/cubase sometimes the cursor selection only selects one region. Is there a user error on my side?
Hello and good choice
There is no modifier key to temporarily switch to shuffle.
You can assign key commands to Snap Types. In this way you can more quickly switch between different types. Unfortunately in Cubase you will need two different key commands. One for selecting Shuffle and a second one for your other preferred Snap Type in order to get back to it.
Hi Johnny,
Thanks for your response. I’ve already done that and with a shuffle mode shortcut in Nuendo.
Unfortunately that’s not 100% what I’m looking for. In logic I can select several events and shuffle all of them with one shortcut to the next region to the left or right side.
I guess this function doesn’t exist in cubase the same way like in logic. I’m completely new to macros, maybe I should try and setup this function there?
You want to move the events with a key command?
This is currently not possible. You have to change the Snap Type and make the moves with the mouse.
Yes exactly, as shown in the video example I’ve posted above. Maybe there is a way implement this feature with the PLE or macros?
I don’t think there is a way. We have the commands to move events or parts (what you know as regions) left or right. They are called Nudge Left and Nudge Right. At the moment these commands still obeye the nudge step size setting, even when Cubase is in Shuffle mode. This might be unintended behaviour or maybe nobody at Steinberg thought yet of supporting the Shuffle mode in this way.
Still, somebody else might have an idea.
I do like the described feature idea.
