Shuttle through audio with JKL, maybe even I & O?

Hello Steinberg People

I am a video editor looking for a straight forward tool to edit VOs. I am trying out Wavelab Elements and really like it so far. The thing is that keyboard short cuts such as JKL as in Backwards/Pause/Forwards are part of the DNA of my muscle memory.

I have figured out that I can use the space bar to toggle Play On and Off.

Further by going to the File/Preference/shortcuts Window I managed to find “Toggle Play/stop”
And assign “K” to “Toggle Play/stop”

But fast forwarding and fast rewinding through audio is still a mystery for me.

Buttons in View Window

I see the buttons at the bottom of the View Window.
“Move Playhead Position Backwards” SHIFT B
“Move Playhead Position Forwards” SHIFT N

I can click on them and they seem to function as fast forward/rewind but with one constant speed. Is this correct?

Filtering Shortcuts in shortcut prefs!

Trying to be clever here I filter & search “Shortcuts” in the preferences for the “Shortcuts” & not “name/description.”
I see in the shortcuts editor
“Move to previous Anchor” SHIFT B
“Move to next Anchor” SHIFT N
Seems weird to me or maybe I am missing something.
But appears not to compute with above!

Filtering name/description in shortcut prefs!

Trying to be clever here I filter & search “name/description” in the preferences for “Move Playhead Position Backwards” & not “Shortcuts”
The only word that gives me a result is the word “Backwards”
I try and assign J = Navigate backwards
(This appears to be something other than rewind/more like jump backwards)

Trying to be clever here I search the “name/description.” in the preferences for “Move Playhead Position Forwards” and not “Shortcuts”
The only word that gives me a result is the word “Forwards”
I try and assign L = Navigate forward
(This appears to be something other than forward/more like jump forwards)

Result is that I am now really confused!

I do not mean to be grumpy but this all seems very unintuitive.
Can some one kindly tell me if JKL as in shuttle through audio material is possible in WaveLab?
And if so how can I achieve this?

Would also be curious to know if there is a way to select a section with keyboard short cuts…
eg “i” for start of selection and “o” for end of selection as in IN and OUT?

over and out and thanks in advance
