Sidechaining

I’m not sure I know what I’m doing with side chaining. I have two channels on my 2i2. One for my Voice and one for my acoustic guitar. I’d like it so that when I am singing my guitar volume decreases. Is that a proper used case for side chaining?

@LSlowak it doesn’t really help me because I’m a singer songwriter and don’t create the type of music depicted.

Does sidechaining help when recording a vocal track and a guitar track?

It looks like you want to do a simple two track recording, correct?

While we’re not equipped with the 2i2, here is the link to the dedicated audio routing chapter of our "Getting started with Cubasis tutorial:

Please create two audio tracks, and follow the exact same steps shown to route the available 2i2 inputs to the different tracks.
