Dorico Pro 6 on Windows 11 NotePerformer
I haven’t exported MIDI since updating to Dorico 6. It used to work just fine. In my current project, though, when I export, the MIDI file has the correct 7-minute length, but makes no sound.
I’ve tried copying flows to new projects, toggling playback engines, creating new layouts, checking VST routing, all sorts of things – every simple solution I can think of. No dice.
I tried debugging with the WIndows CoPilot AI bot for HOURS, which caused me to just about lose my mind. Not going there again.
Key observation: MIDI still exports normally from an earlier project. The confusing part is that the new, problematic project was originally created by a SAVE AS of that earlier project – not with “New Project”. I haven’t since fiddled at all with settings, players, routing, etc., in the problematic project although I have created new layouts. The problem persists even with a “full score” layout. Could some setting havechanged without my knowledge when I duplicated the old project or upgraded to Dorico Pro 6?
These are large projects, with over a dozen flows and many thousands of notes. Although I might solve the problem by duplicating the older project again and manually copying every bit of content into the new dupe, I’d like to avoid that kind of effort. Much better to bite the bullet now and instead try to figure out exactly what’s happening so that I can avoid a recurrence.
I hate to request a remote debug session, but at ths point, I’m at an absolute loss.
Before I waste more time, does anybody see something obvious that I’m missing?

UPDATE: Some of this piece originated as imported MIDI passages. Could be screwing up Dorico’s MIDI configuration? Play/Reset Playback Overrides usually helps in cases like this, but not this time.
