I purchased Simon Phillips Studio Drums expansion for Groove Agent today, Dec 9, 2025. Received the Redeem code and plugged it into Steinberg Download Assistant. The library was added to “My products” and I was able to download it. Download Assistant asked if I wanted to activate the license. I clicked Yes, but it wants to activate the license using the old e-licenser. Of course this doesn’t work any longer. I checked the My Steinberg online account and tried entering the Redeem Code there. Same result. Not seeing an option to upgrade in the Vouchers section of My Steinberg - but that was also shut down when the e-licenser system was shut down, wasn’t it?
well, in my “solution” post, i decided to be nice and not say who. but since you asked. . . it was ***! [EDIT] kinda surprising, but i’m willing to cut em some slack. maybe it was also steinberg’s booboo by not providing updated license keys. anyhow, don’t mean to point any fingers. nobody can manage every detail. good news is that steinberg support resolved it fairly quickly.
[Probably doesn’t matter in the least but seems that mentioning the reseller casts a tiny bit of aspersion toward them. Most likely wasn’t their fault at all. So I nixed that bit.]
