Since this program is changing every week and now we work on one version and test another one, I’m a little confused trying to figure out what version I’m currently running. Many other softwares have version+build numbers in the tittle of main window.
Okay, I won’t make screenshots, I hope you’ll believe
SpectraLayers Pro 12
WaveLab Pro 12.0.51
Yes, Dorico and Cubase don’t have version numbers, but since you made VST Live not Cubase/Dorico alike, then this could not be an obstacle, right?
Other tools I have on board:
OBS 32.0.2
VEGAS Pro 23.0
Blender 5.0.0
About window - yes, the version 3 shows version number, but version 2.2.85 shows only team members. Anyway it’s too long way to move mouse to Help menu, click, move mouse some 24 pixels down and click again, then click to close… It’s annoying
BTW the softs I mentioned above all have their About windows.
Hi, @fkalmus
Yes, of course the benefit is the smallest that can be in the bunch of other thousand requests. But the question is - why not to add the version number to the title just for one reason - updates are very frequent. The same reason is enough for Blender and other soft with less frequent updates than VST Live.
Okay, the version number in the About window in version 2.2.86 is back. Thanks, @Spork It was gone in 2.2.85. BTW the question is open for all other users. If no one confirm the same need, then just ignore this post! That simple
Thank you, @fkalmus.
There are currently higher-priority areas we need to focus on, but this change is helpful for us as well. It allows us to identify the used version directly from screenshots or videos, and it only required changing a single source line.
And I was hoping you’d add it just for someone’s birthday
I already wrote my need and I forget that it would help you as well. Nice! While testing two versions - 2.2.x and 3.0.x - it really will help us all.
Single line in code - that’s why I was brave to ask such little thing I wouldn’t ask you if it could take more, knowing other priorities now in two product lines.
