It’s 2025 and there still appears to be no support for simultaneous time signatures. I want to have a 12/8 and a 4/4 at the same time. I’ve seen the weird method with a pickup bar and hiding a time signature and hiding triplets, but unless I’ve misunderstood something that approach doesn’t work for me because this simultaneous section is in the middle of a score, so I can’t add a pickup measure. Is there really still no solution for this?

It is indeed possible to use this method in the middle of a score! The “pickup measure” technique can be used anywhere.
