SINE does not react to the Dynamics lane

Here is the problem I have. I am using Dorico Pro 6.1.10. The library used for the cello is Sine (Orchestral Tools Berlin Strings First Chairs).
In the Expression Map for the cello, the Volume dynamic sections is set to CC1.
Problème: Dorico’s dynamics lane shows that the hairpin f>pp is there. However, it has no effect on the SINE. I’ve been trying different settings for the past two days with no results. The cello does not play the hairpin and stays at the same level.
I have similar problems with the flute, also playing a SINE instrument.
What am I missing? I love the Orchestra tools libraries. I had problems with Finale using them, but now that I am on Dorico, I thought it would be OK.
Thank you for your help.

Welcome to the forum.

If you want a quick answer, rather than a series of random guesses, upload a Dorico file that demonstrates your problem (it only needs to be a few bars long).

You’re right. However, I did not see the button to upload files.

It might depend on your discourse trust level, but you should eventually see…

Alternatively, you can drag/drop files onto the message area.

Yes, I’m Basic. But I have this score to write and it’s kind of urgent that I solve the problem. Now, probably becuqse I;m Basic, I do not see that meny where I could upload files. Just turned to Dorico (which i greatm by the way) because Finale died on me 3 weeks ago.

Browse the forum, “like” a few posts, and your trust level will quickly increase.

There are members here using SINE and OT Berlin libraries who will quickly be able to sort your problem, but only if they can examine how your score is set up.

I tried a similar test with the free SINE player and free choir. Creating/using an expression map with CC1 dynamics didn’t work. I switched to the built-in CC11 dynamics and it did work. Also, the default hairpin ramp was 0 → -1. I dragged the end point all the way down to -8 and playback has the dynamic behavior I expect.

I don’t know if the Cello is different. Maybe CC11 is worth a try, and fiddling with the ramp.

You can change the range of the CC11 switch and/or change the limits of the dynamic curve in the expression map.

Thank you. Enclosed are some screencaptures of my problem, with, this time, CC11. and increased dynamic range. Still no effects of the Dynamics lane to the SINE instrument.

I tested again with Berlin Free Orchestra : Celli, and CC1 seemed to work fine for me. Obviously the expression map was set to “Modulation wheel dynamics”.

(At the lower right of the SINE player there is a Dyn tab with a “Volume range” which seems like it might be involved. I’m not very familiar with SINE, but all the default behavior seemed to work for me.)

Thanks techworker1 for sending your score example. I did set the filter at 0Hz in the Dyn tab of SINE and also set the secondary dynamic in the Expression map at CC11 and got a result at last. It may not be as striking as other libraries, but I can live with that. So that was a great help.
