If you want a single-note beam then you need to select a single note and do “Beam Together”. You can then use the “Partial Beam Direction” to choose the direction.

Now I just need to know if there is a way to select a section of notes and make them all “Single Beam Together.”
I’m afraid not—you’ll have to do that for each note separately.
You can do one note. Repeat it (R) as many times as needed. Then use Lock Duration to re-pitch the passage. It just means you need to think ahead.
If similar passages are needed, select the original and alt-click copy to the new location, and re-pitch.
