The subject line pretty much says it. So, it seems to me it is a volume problem, but not sure. I need a nudge in the right direction to fix it.
Open the Lower Zone in the Key Editor and set it to show Velocity if it doesn’t already. Then you can draw in a larger value. Alternatively you could Select the Note and edit the Velocity on the Info Line.

I find it interesting that I am finding different velocities in the midi I imported. The native file does not exhibit that, ie. note is not quiet.
In the Key Editor you can set it so the Note Color is determined by a bunch of characteristics. By default it is set to Velocity. But there are others like the Chord Track, Pitch, MIDI Part Color etc.
Most likely the Virtual Instrument being used doesn’t respond to Velocity so even if the Velocity is different on different Notes they’ll all sound the same. This is how pipe organs work for example.
