Single MIDI Track to feed multiple instruments/plugins?

Is there a way to get one single MIDI track to feed multiple instruments? Otherwise it seems I need to create a MIDI track to feed each plugin. I can’t select multiple sidechains or plugins in the MIDI output routing drop down.

More specifically, I am trying to feed waves harmony plugin on multiple chorus vocal tracks and I want each of them to follow only one track of chord progressions.

A way to get these MIDI sidechain plugins to follow the chord track would also be great.

Thanks

Hi,

Use MIDI Sends. This way, you can send MIDI data up to 5 Instruments at once (1 Output + 4 MIDI Sends).

You can also use the Shared Copy of the MIDI Part. Once you change the data in one of the shared copies, the other data changes too. The downside of this is, you don’t see which MIDI Part is shared with which other MIDI part. So if you have Track A MIDI Part shared with Track B MIDI Part and Track C MIDI Part shared with Track D MIDI Part, all MIDI Parts are marked as shared copy, but you don’t see this A-B and C-D link (I hope I explained it OKish).

Could you expand on how you have this set up? Typically Harmony goes on a single vocal Channel optionally fed from a MIDI Track.
I’m also not sure how it relates to MIDI Tracks with multiple destinations.

Yes harmony is inserted on each vocal track. Each of them can receive midi info or can even be played live from your controller. If I want multiple vocal tracks to recieve the same midi track/chord progression I was just duplicating the midi tracks and routing to each instance of harmony. I did not consider using sends from a single midi track.

Makes sense! Thank you!
