Is it possible to have a single repeat ending for a section to be repeated five times, with custom text that says ‘repeat five times’? I suppose one could just do this with a line, but I thought I’d ask. I am aware of the ‘play n times’ option. but this is a visual indicator for the performer.
Another thing you might try is…
Create a 2nd ending structure.
Go to Engrave mode and set custom text for the 1st ending and Times played for segment.
Then drag the 2nd ending off the page so it never prints.
You could certainly use a “real” repeat ending as Craig suggests, but I think I might be tempted to use a custom barline-attached line, itself attached to the system so that it appears in every staff, rather than a repeat ending.
