Size of dim sign

How can I adjust the chord symbol element size individually? So get a bigger dim-circle, but not a bigger slash (or maj7-triangle?)

Hi @RoelVanWijk,

  • menu Library>Chord Symbols
  • write for example G#dim and click the +
  • select the circle and scale it up with the values, untile the desired size is reached (possibly choose another thinner circle clicking on the other available icons)
  • on the bottom left click Apply to all roots
  • if you want this as default, click the star icon

this is gold!!! Thanks!

An additional question: now I know this, I’d like to fine tune everything, e.g. my minor-m. And I like to have it the same size with Xm, Xm7, Xm9, Xm11, is this possible?

Yes, there are several possibilities. Can you tell more how you want exactly the “m” in Xm, Xm7, Xm9, Xm11 to appear?
Generally, you can change some of the Egraving Options for chord symbols:

If you set the “m” to be superscript or subscript, you can influence their size and position [only superscript]globally (with some limitations):

Otherwise you would need to do the procedure explained in my previous post, for each kind: Xm, Xm7, Xm9, Xm11 (and apply to all roots).

But I am not a Chord Symbols expert, possibly someone has better suggestions.

Wow, that is even better! In this case. But it is good to know both possibilities. You’re a chord symbol genius! Can I select “more solution” to this second answer?

You can only check a solution checkmark per thread.

You will find much more informations in this very well done video by John Barron @John_at_Steinberg :

There is also a German version of the video, equally well made by Markus Hartmann @Markus_Hartmann:

How can you delete the overrides? I’d like to use method 2 but I can’t see how to undo the symbol changes I made with method 1.

Solved! With the undo-circle!

Exactly. Actualy that is called the Reset button.
