Is there a way to change size of TAB staff independent of Guitar staff?
I have guitar at the size I want. I want TAB to be a bit smaller, say 80%. Any changes I make change both the guitar and staff
[Edit>Notations>staff size changes both guitar and TAB].
Engraving options has a host of TAB options, but not changing the TAB staff size.
Thanks
Hi @Bert_Ligon, you could duplicate the player, edit the name of the second guitar with an empty space, copy the music from the first to the second guitar, and with the Layout Options as below, you can obtain what you wish (to be able to set independently the size of the 5 line and the TAB staves):
independent TAB as duplicate player.dorico (1.3 MB)

Thanks.
I did arrive at this solution with some trial and error. A lot more steps than just clicking and resizing a staff…
Now that I have it, I can use this file as a template when I need it.

To change the size of the tablature staff without changing the size of the notation staff, you can go to Library > Engraving Options > Staves > Staff Lines and change the Scale factor for distance between staff lines in tablature.

Thanks, I see what that does.
In your example and my experience, the new TAB staff shows a small time signature. With a typical TAB staff there would be no time signature. Any maneuver to hide the time signature hides it for all staves. Does that time signature bother anyone else?
If you use two guitar players, one showing notation and the other showing tablature, then you can give the tab staff a hidden local time signature by selecting the first fret number on the tab staff, pressing Shift-M to open the meter popover, typing (4/4) into the popover, and pressing Alt/Opt-Return:
If you use a single guitar player showing both notation and tablature, then the tab staff does not have a time signature, and you can use the engraving option I mentioned in my previous post to change the size of the tab staff without changing the size of the notation staff:
