Did you download the latest available SKI installer from here? Steinberg SKI Remote | Steinberg

Yep that’s where I got it from

Hi,

We’re not able to reproduce the issue at our end, but I’ve forwarded your information to our engineers.
Will get back to you once we have news.

Thanks,
Lars

Hi jhsmusic,

Please download the SKI installer again and give the installation another try (to exclude any defects here).
Next option would be to update or repair the .net installation via Windows update.

Please let me know if one of these steps helps to solve the issue at your end.

Best,
Lars

Hi

Downloaded SKI 1.0.6.58 again and this still failed

I am on .Net 4.5.1 (specifically 4.5.50938)

Downloaded the Microsoft NetFxRepairTool, this fixed two registry issues but the SKI still fails

I installed KB2901938 .NET 4.5.2 and install still fails

Any other ideas?

I also just tried running the Microsoft FixIt tool, just in case. It detected nothing that needed fixing and the SKI still fails to install

Working!

Installed:

Microsoft Visual C++
Microsoft .Net 3.5
Micrsoft ASP .NET MVC Runtime

And the installer worked.

I think its pretty poor that Steinberg are still requiring C++ Libaries from 2005 and .NET from Windows XP.

So Ill get it all configured and then start un-installing the above lot to see if its only the installer that needs them

Hi jhsmusic,

Thanks for the update.
Glad to hear you’re up and running!

Best,
Lars
