I’d like to create a blank space on a page within a layout that skips bars completely.
For example: halfway down a page, the music ends, there is a white space, and then picks up again at later in the piece on the same page.
At first I thought it would be possible by just putting two separate frames on the same page, but then I realized that you can’t choose what bar the frame starts on.
The idea is that this layout is for a player who performs until that bar at that music stand, and goes away and comes back to the same stand later.
Hope this makes sense. Possible? Attached is an example of what it might look like.
Hi @chrispthompson, not sure I understand the situation and your wish 100%, but you could hide a staff (that would have a multibar rest) using a system attached text which covers the whole staff (you could use TAB or just empty spaces for this text, but I like to use a repeated X, to see how big the rectangle will be). You need to set a white background and white foreground for that text. Then position it in engrave mode so that it covers the desired staff. You need manually to hide the bar number, from the properties panel (for some reason the white background doesn’t influence the visibility of the bar number).
