Sorry if I’m missing something here, but shouldn’t Steinberg’s own effect plug ins included with Nuendo 13 ( which I own ) be available in SL VST3 plug in slot?
Or are they not actually VST Plug ins?
I can see my third party VST effect plugins… which all work fine, but I guess I assumed the SB effects would be there too? Some of them would be very useful, especially when using SL standalone.
Thanks
Mac OS 10.15.3 / M1 MacBook Pro / SpectraLayers Pro 11.0.6
Shame … maybe a feature request then to have the stock SB effects in SL ( if you have a Cubendo license ) ? It would help create a consistent “environment”. They should be there in WaveLab too ( my license is so old it doesn’t work anymore and I don’t know what the situation is now!)
I guess using SL in ARA mode within Nuendo mitigates the issue … but I have run into problems with monitoring SL inside Nuendo when working on Ambisonic audio files. So AWKWARD… ;-).
As a precedent on Mac, Apple’s Logic Pro effects are available in other apps such as Final Cut Pro.
To be pedantic, the shared Audio Unit plug-ins are native audio components integrated into MacOS, not just “Logic Pro” effects - You can grab them all individually if your platform supports it:
So the architecture is a bit different and supported at the OS level, not just “sharing effects between applications,” particularly when they aren’t exposed (or registered) as VSTs. It would be cool for sure, though.
