Using C15.0.6 under Mac OS Tahoe 26.1. I tried to use Spectral Layers 12 today on a vocal track and a guitar track. It crashed Cubase five times. Every time Cubase crashed. I’ve been using SL without any problem right up until yesterday. I’m at a loss.
Hi,
Attach the *.ips files, please.
Mac: macOS Console utility > Crash Reports (or ~user/Library/Logs/Diagnostic Reports).
I have no idea how to attach the ips file.
Once you have located the .ips file, use this option in the forum editing panel to join it to a further post :
Where exactly is that ips file located? I can save it to my desktop when I reboot but after that I have no idea where those ips files are stored. Thanks.
See @Martin.Jirsak post above, in which he provides the .ips files path. I cannot help more on the location aspect, as I have a Windows 10 based system.
I confirm this: Cubase 15.0.6 on macOS Tahoe 26.2 (MacBook Air, M4 Apple silicon) with newly installed SpectraLayer 12.0.40. SL 12 crashes Cubase 15 as soon as I click on “Preview” in SL 12 (default vocal separation). ips-file attached.
SL 12 started as an app does run normal on the same machine. There’s something wrong with the Cubase 15 integration.
Cubase 15-2025-12-30-090130.ips (183,7 KB)
Yes. If I need to use SL I open up Nuendo 14.0.41. Everything works fine there. Not so in Cubase 15.0.6
Hi,
The crash is in SpectraLayers. Reported to Steinberg, thank you.
