Hi,
There doesn’t seem to be a way to remap output assignments in SpectraLayers when using the Bridge monitoring path. As a result, if I have a mono clip in Pro Tools and send it to SL11 Bridge as a real time AAX plugin assigned to an AUX track, the mono audio seems to come out the left monitor only, instead of centre in a 5.1 scenario or in a basic stereo instance of the SL11 Bridge. For a lot of us in post, we’re most often dealing with centre dialogue.
Is there a way to deal with this, other than working exclusively with a mono instance of SL bridge?
Damian
I would prefer to let Pro Tools handle channel mapping itself rather than having double layers of channel mapping. SpectraLayers audiosuite plugin expose itself to Pro Tools as mono, stereo, and all combinations of surround, so that Pro Tools can choose the most appropriate format when calling it. If Pro Tools calls it in mono mode, SpectraLayers plays back a mono signal through the bridge device, and it’s then up to Pro Tools to properly play it.
I’ll check the actual behavior more in details though.
All I can say is that right now with a 5.1 instance of SL Bridge, mono stuff is coming out the left side.
