After breaking a beam group, a slanted line appears between the note and rest. What is this and how can it be removed? An example of the issue is in Bar 23.

It looks like you have managed to add some jazz articulations. Open the lower properties panel, select the note, then scroll across to the right hand end section of the properties. See this?
Just click the blue toggle In to remove it.
Indeed. Don’t know how that happened. I have been working with this thing for no more than a day or two having worked with Finale for 30 years. So far I am sold and even more so knowing there are people out there such as yourself. Thank you so much. George
