Slash Notation in Up Stem Drums

Hello,

I am inputting drum notation and all the upstems are coming in as slash notation. None of their default noteheads are slashes, they are not in a “voice”, they are not in a slash region.

Nothing in the properties panel is engaged. I cannot figure out why this is happening.

It looks like perhaps Dorico has got confused about which voice is which in the drum kit. Can you cut the project down to just the drum set instrument and a couple of bars, and attach it here so we can take a look?

Thanks, Conor. I’m not sure exactly what’s gone on here, but I think the quickest way to solve this is to add a second player and add the Drum set (full) kit to that player, then copy and paste the music from the original kit to the new one.

I figured out at least what triggered this issue. I added slash notation to the drum kit via the “Add New Instrument” Button which turned all upstem notes into slashes. When I added it with the “Slashes” button next to “Stem Direction/Voice” this was not an issue. Worth taking a look at or potentially removing the option for drum kits if it causes this issue?

Thanks, that’s very helpful to know. You should indeed not be able to add the slashes instrument to the kit that way. I’ll take a look at preventing this.
