Hey there, I’m working on a guitar part in a project that has multiple flows. I want my chart to be mostly chord symbols over slash regions, with a few notated bars here and there for rhythmic cues.
My chord symbols are showing up on every other flow, as well as my slash regions. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to add chord symbols/slash regions to one flow only. Help!
Welcome to the forum @DavidYuss!
If you want all Guitar flows in one layout, I can only think of two options:
-
Turn on chord symbols for the Guitar player and hide the chords in the flows you don’t want them.
-
Turn on chord symbols but rather than Show for Rhythm Section Instruments, select Show in Chord Symbol and Slash regions. After this, add a Chord Symbol Region anywhere that you want chords but not slashes, or add a Slash Region and it will happen automatically.
Hi Daniel, thank you for the response! The solution of showing chords only in chord symbol regions and hiding them for other instruments seems to work.
I’m still left with the issue of my slash regions appearing on every other layout. How do I create slash regions on only one instrument?
They should only be appearing in one instrument/stave at a time.
How are you inputting them? As per the user guide method?
Yes. I’m selecting the bars, using the Shift-R popover and typing slash.
If it helps, the slash regions aren’t appearing in every other layout - only Lead, Piano, Keyboards 1+2, bass, and drums.
I assume this is because those instruments are designated as ‘rhythm section’? Is my issue a result of the way the project has been set up?
I just tried adding a slash region to one instrument and it appeared in only one instrument and only that instrument’s layout.
Could you please attach your project?
I just received a new project file to work from, and it appears I’m not having the same issue. Maybe it was a setup issue.
I’ll check back if the problem persists, thanks Daniel!
