I’d like to write a bar of drum kit music, then have either bar repeats or some kind of slash notation in the following bars, but still be able to notate offbeat accents where necessary, as one-off crash cymbal notes for example. I can’t figure it out at all!
Also, for example a guitar part, I’d like to have rhythmic slashes with chord symbols, but to be able to somehow either notate or record an actual part (hidden) which plays back so that there isn’t just silence where the slash rhythms are.
Don’t know if this approach is what you’re after, but I quickly threw in a notated bar for the drums followed by bar repeats. Then I added a special “Drum Hits” player (I used Sketch > Percussion) for the hits and added them as cues in the drum part. Of course, the special player/staff could be set not to appear in your score and part layouts. (I’m assuming you’re interested in showing hits that aren’t just cues from other parts in the score.)
