I sent a Dorico Diagnostic Report to Ulf and it apparently it revealed that the paths to vst2s were the underlying problem resulting in a number of rejections by Dorico. Collectively these appear to have caused the delay in the audio engine connecting. Rather than investigate vsts I rarely if at all use I decided to simply eliminate all vst2s and their paths in preferences. I’m pleased to report that since I took this step the slow audio engine connection has not reoccurred. Thank you for your help Ulf.
