Slow / laggy graphics with Cubase 8.5 & 9 and Nuendo 7

I’m seeing slow laggy playback graphics on the timeline and the mixer in Cubase 8.5 and 9 as well as Nuendo 7 so it seems to be Steinberg products across the board.
All are the latest available updated versions Im running an Nvidia 750Ti graphics card with the latest drivers (did a clean out with DDU before installing these).

I get silky smooth performance with Pro Tools 10 and 12, Studio One V3 and Reaper 5 so this is Cubase specific, there is no untoward realtime audio processing problems, audio sounds fine its just the screen redraws that lag and stop/start freeze for a second every few seconds.
Ran lantencymon to to double check and its looking fine.

I found this video thats showing the same behavior except clicking my mouse doesnt improve anything and i’m only playing back audio (no plugins)

I have plenty of CPU power and RAM on tap, Intel i7 3770K with 16GM of RAM Windows 10 Pro x64 1607.

Has anyone seen the same thing happen?

Steinberg already working on fix, and in 9.0.30 they should fix it.

Ah thanks, sorry i used the search and couldn’t find anything on it from previous posters so thought i was alone and would post it up.
