Hi, Since updating to Cubase 15.0.21 on Windows 11, I am experiencing serious performance issues. - Opening older projects takes 2 to 3 minutes. - The MediaBay loading spinner keeps rotatin
g and Media Service takes forever to stop.
Hi. Do you also have the same behavior with new projects created with 15.0.21? Have you saved the older projects with 15.0.21 to “update” them?
Make sure you have the latest Mediant download and try deleting the media bay database, but make a backup first.

To give you the conclusion, the issue has been completely resolved.
Previously, even if an empty project opened relatively quickly, initializing internal instruments like HALion Sonic that come with Cubase 15 Pro took a long time. Most importantly, the biggest issue was that it took 2 to 3 minutes just to load “MediaBay” and “Media Service” during the initial startup of Cubase itself.
I initially searched the official Steinberg download page to re-download MediaBay alone, but I noticed there was a “Repair” option available in Windows. When I tried running the “Repair” for Steinberg MediaBay, everything was fixed instantly!
Now, Cubase launches very fast, and the instruments load immediately too.

Can I ask where you found the “repair” option?
Never mind, I found it in Control Panel however when I choose “repair” Window says it can’t find “mediabay.msi”
As a very important point, you should not look for it in the Steinberg Download Assistant. Instead, you need to go to the official Steinberg website and find the download page for the standalone Steinberg MediaBay.
For Windows, it will be downloaded as a zip file. After you unzip this file, you will see a separate installer file named MediaBay msi alongside Setup exe.
You should run this MediaBay msi file directly, and it will allow you to choose the Repair option. This process fixed everything instantly for me. I hope this helps!
