Sluggish plugin GUI opening

I’m experiencing sluggish GUI opening on a bunch of plugins since the update. Especially the SSL plugin GUIs, which were usually lightning fast.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Which update do you mean? Do you mean the update to 0.40? Or do you mean an update from 13 to 14?

Hi Martin! The latest 0.40 update. I just reinstalled 0.32 and it seems pretty similar.

The SSL channel strips take a second or two to completely open - the plugin border opens and it takes a moment to display the actual GUI. If you have one instance open and you open another it’s pretty much instant.

The Pulsar 1178 opens a little faster, but when you close it, it takes 2 seconds to completely close. If you have one open, same thing, the next ones open much quicker. Also, if you open 4 x 1178’s, the first 3 close instantly, but the last one takes 2 seconds to close.

So, the SSL plugins take longer to load, but close instantly. The 1178 opens quicker, but takes longer to close..

Could the problem be caused by the latest 25H2 Windows update or the latest SSL or the 0.40 Nuendo update?

All I know is that I’ve never had this before. It’s a weird one and real work-flow killer.

Hi,

If you can observe the issue in Nuendo 14.0.32 too, then it cannot be caused by the 14.0.40 update.

If you installed any iLok protected plugins recently there’s a (semi) known issue at the moment which causes these sort of problems. Pace is looking into it for a fix. Solution is to roll back to a plugin build using the previous Pace protection or wait for Pace to fix it and then wait for developers to re-wrap their plugins with the fixed Pace toolkit.

Yes. I tried on N13 too. So, it looks like it’s being caused by iLok, which makes sense.

Thanks so much for this. Yes, it makes sense. After your observation I checked and only the iLok plugins are causing this.
