Slur layout

Just wanted to make this issue known. Looks super weird and funky and you have to manually adjust each slur. Things like this make it harder for me to switch from Sibelius.

Here is the same measure in sibelius

Well, I agree about the slurs, but this is hardly a fair comparison. Look at the note spacing.

Here is the same measure with tighter note spacing in Sibelius. My point is it looks super weird in Dorico even with wider spacing. And even if you cram a bunch of bars together on one page itl’l never look like that in Sibelius.

I just think this could be tweaked to look better in future versions.

Here is comparable note spacing to the last Sibelius example. Still looks strange IMO

I do agree this needs improvement, and this has been discussed on the forum before. In my opinion, there should be an option to not allow the endpoints of the slur to cross inside the right-most and left-most edges of the slur at its outer curvature.

Yes, That is what looks strange about it.

Yes, this is a weak spot in the slurs. (Also grace note slurs.) It can be improved with some Engraving Options, but it still may require some good-old-fashioned manual adjustment.

You should be able to Alt-click a corrected slur, to copy it to a new position.
