Slurs attached to noteheads

I am working on a file that was converted from Finale. There are several slurs in the notation that I would like to remove. However, the slurs are attached to a notehead. When I delete the slur, I delete the notehead. I did attempt to replace the note after deleteing the slur, but it brings the slur back. In engrave mode, I am unable to delete the slur at all. I am new to Dorico, your help is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, @lewandle29!

If they look like this:

They’re likely laissez vibrer ties (it happens with xml imports from Finale)

If so, in the properties panel, in the Notes and Rests section, you’ll see this:

Switch off the button.

Welcome to the forum, @lewandle29!

Are you sure they are slurs and not ties? If they’re ties, you can remove them (in Write mode) by selecting them and typing U (for Untie).

Edit: @charles_piano has another idea of what might be happening.

Many thanks for the fast reply. I am on Windows 11, and I do not see a properties menu item. Is it under the File menu?

Many thanks for the fast reply. This worked! You saved this new dorico user a ton of time!
