Slurs in brackets

I need slurs that have a square bracket at the beginning and end. Basically, instead of the editorial slur that Dorico offers by default. Is there any way to create them like music symbols using the editor?

FWIW, most high-end publishers nowadays are switching to dashed typeface for editorial slurs.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t solve the problem; my high-end publisher would like brackets instead.

I don’t think we can edit slurs as lines to give them a start - end cap that uses a bracket (that’s what I would do in Sibelius, for example).
Sorry not to be able to offer more help…
Good luck!

If you don’t want to add those brackets as System Text, you could instead create the opening and closing bracket as a Playing Technique. Apply them to the notes where the slur starts/ends and adjust in Engrave Mode. Hopefully you don’t have too many of them…

This works great, @k_b.

@Hutmann I made a Dorico File (as an exercise for me), in case could be helpful to someone:

Thank you k_b, this is by far the best of all the bad solutions to this problem
