Slurs playback weirdness

Elements 5.1 on windows. I am playing around with the record function for entering notes with a midi keyboard. Flute 1 was entered that way and small adjustments were made.

Can you tell me why the slur in measure 6 does not work? The “a” acts like a staccato or something, and the transition is not smooth.

Also, in measure 5, the “g” also sounds short, not like the following “e” note?

If I enter an identical set of notes the normal way, the slur sounds fine.

I am using the Iconica sketch expression map.

Dorico respects your MIDI recording. If you want it to play as notated you could reset playback overrides.

I am just trying to understand how to best use midi input, so that helps a lot.
