Small FR: changing already-routed instrument

Default behaviour seems to be, when changing an instrument, to create a Halion playback channel for the new instrument. Is it, or would it be, possible to add the option to retain the current assignment?

Example; I noticed that my clarinets showed Clarinet in Bb in Bb, and changing the instrument simplifies it to Clarinet in Bb. However, I then need to go into Play and change the routing.

I can’t remember the exact reason for this behaviour, but I do know that there’s a good reason for it – I will try to remember to ask Paul about it.
