Smooth scrolling in Windows, PLEASE!

Steinberg,

Please implement this already: many of us are using mice like the Logitech MX Master 3S. Smooth scrolling, when toggled in their app, does not work. It seems they’ve internally restricted it to only four applications: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Internet Explorer. Which is just dumb on all sorts of levels, but here we are.

Could you please open up a line of communication with them to implement this, after all these years? It’s just so jarring how scrolling currently works in Cubase on Windows and it should be such a relatively easy thing to solve.

There are a couple of GitHub projects called “logioptspp” and “LogiOptionsPlus-InMemoryPatching”. I’ve tried the second one, and it works! …that is, until you open the MixConsole, where it does not work (no big deal, exactly one channel at a time is OK, I suppose), but then when you go back to Arrange, it’s suddenly no longer working. Curses!

I’m about to try the second hack, see how well that one behaves.

But, my general point is that we should not have to be hacking on this stuff. It’s been an issue on Windows for years and years and in 2025, it just makes the software look and feel behind the times and definitely behind the Mac version (which I also use).

Please just knock this out once and for all, work directly with Logitech if you have to: the MX Master mice are really very, very nice when they’re working exactly as they should be: scrolling in Chrome is legitimately delightful on a 4K monitor, and this same experience could be had where I spend most of my time: Cubase.

I’ve never gotten used to the jerky scrolling in the arrange window after all these years. Just fix it already, PLEASE AND THANK YOU.
