I keep encountering weird snapping behavior only to discover snap type is again set to shuffle. I’ve never intentionally set the type to anything other than grid. When you are expecting grid and things start moving in an unexpected bizarre fashion it’s pretty frustrating. It took me an hour to figure out what was happening, now at least I know to check the snap type.
I checked preferences and key commands, I can’t find any reason why the type keeps changing. I’m trying to pay close attention to it now so I can discover when it’s actually changing. Absolutely maddening.
A thought…
If it is changing when you start new a project it might be because that is the setting saved in the template you are using to create the new project.
yep! happened to me know, I couldn’t understand why everything sounded so off!, then the midi was acting strange when I was moving it around. Eventually realised that the snap was set to shuffle…I NEVER set it to shuffle. Now I have to go through everything in the song and fix it. BUT…while doing that, all of a sudden all midi in an event would jump to the left i removed any block. I was like…what the heck?! Checked the stupid snap type, first thing…and guess what!
It was set to shuffle again…dude! I’m getting a bit frustrated here! Che3cked the key commands, and maybe I slipped with a finger somewhere on the keyvoard,…but there is no key command for it as you said! …so what is setting it then? I’m gonna check quick controls now…that might be a thing…who knows…I’ll write here again if I understand the slightest of what is going on here.
