Means, It is living in the present ![]()
that means only if I clicked on a part before, all plugins (only from this part) will be loaded and kept in memory? But it will not load all other parts of the song? is that right?
That’s right (except when you executed “Prelaod (Parts)”.
Whoa… I thought that all part of an active song would be loaded on song activation (my bad @UdoBehm ) !!! Shouldn’t make more sense to load all parts of an active song at song activation, and dump from ram at song deactivation?
Anyway, lately I’m never preloading and parts switch is still seamless so… magic? ![]()
Cheers, Ciro.
Wao., tough staff to assimilate. Thanks though
That takes time and interrupts the system, so you get glitches. Do you have problems with resources too?
To me it’s not only ressources if I may mention that ![]()
It’s also the loading time that increases a lot if you use larger projects with several Komplete Kontrol and Kontakt instances inside…
That is exactly what “File/Preload (Parts)” is for.
With “Preload Parts”, in addition to do what happens when you select a Part, each Parts’ plugins processing is also started briefly to ensure all plugins have applied initialization when started the first time (which they should not, but some do).
I think now I know who you are @musicullum (was wondering before
)
I still don’t understand this File preload (parts) function. Does it initialize ALL parts on ALL songs that ara available in a project or only the ones of a song that is currently in use?
Initialization means that the plugins are opened but not fully loaded?
Absolutely not!!! Except some glitches when MP audio ON ( it sometimes, randomly, spike to cpu red and stop transport and audio alltogheter for a second, sending us musicians completely off click… so, sadly sticking to MP off for now) , 2.2.12 is a rock stable release (I would send to official release)
Cheers, Ciro.
Yes.
Some (bad) plugins apply initialization the first time their audio processing is requested. Usually this does nothing. With both “Preload” versions, all plugins are openend and should be ready to go.
