I’d like to have the snare drum play the head AND the rim simultaneously. The head is a regular quarter note head, the rim is an “X”.
I’m using a MIDI keyboard and select the two keys associated with these sounds, I get to X’s rather than a note head and an X. I can enter them using the CHORD button/feature. While this makes the page LOOK correct, it doesn’t play back correctly. Only the rim sound plays.
File is attached.
25 or 6 to 4 _s.dorico (1.1 MB)
I don’t have drumline but does the snaresound plays alone or only the rim sound. If the problem is that they does not play together, I would search in the settings from the drumline VST maybe there is an simultaneously switch or something like that.
If you have no snare sound at all, it problaby has something to do with the percussion map.
Sorry not an solution.
They play together from my MIDI keyboard from within the VST… just not in Dorico.
Which VST are you using?
I am guessing that in the percussion mapping, you don’t have the appropriate technique associated with the either the snare drum, rim, or both. And therefore Dorico is guessing at sounds.

Actually in looking at it, you might have it mapped correctly regarding techniques.
Does the snare drum sound correctly when no other note is present?
Robby
Yes, alone, each of the 6 techniques sounds just fine.
Have you used this VST before in other notation apps?
Robby
Yes… Garage Band… and it works as expected.
