Snow White

In case there is any interest, I thought I’d draw attention to my latest fairytale. This time I decided to set Snow White for an eclectic virtual chamber orchestra including serpent, cornet and glass harmonica (the latter being important in places!) . As previously, the music follows the Grimm tale and text (in English translation) fairly exactly so it might be worth having it to hand unless you already know it intimately. As usual, everything done entirely in Dorico with the voices using SynthesizerV choirs through MusicXML export.

Definitely an “eclectic” set of instruments. Is that a contrabass clarinet I hear (prominently around 15m and again at the 19m mark)? It’s tough to digest this in one listening so I’ll come back with the text in hand another time.

I do admire how you’ve “mastered” Synth V. Did you mix this outside of Dorico? I can never get my Synth V tracks to sit comfortably in any mix inside of Dorico for some reason.

close but it’s actually a contrabassoon.

no, everything’s done from within Dorico
Look forward to further reaction when you’ve managed to digest!
