That’s right, that’s the beautiful sound of justice. Music to my ears.
The sound of demonitizing evil and trampling the snakes. The sound of morally bankrupt AI clowns fking off and dying the death and no one remembering they ever existed.
The sound of real music and real content on our beloved internet once again. The sound of quality, meaning and depth of character coming back to our abused and famine stricken realm.
Where merit and virtue are honored again; the passionate disciplined talented rockstars the champions of our industry, not some feckless lazy slobs, without a strong root in themselves, typing “do my work for me” into a goddamn FAILbox.
“What are you serious? You want to get paid for standing there?”
Cause even the bank robber has to risk life and limb to aquire his ill gotten gains. And where is the respect for him? Exactly where it belongs: nowhere.
How much less respect towards the AI content creator stealing from the comfort of his own unkempt rental apartment; that he won’t be able to afford in five years cause the tool he’s using is burning down the entire economy.
I predicted that the billionaires would start to make AI inaccesible once they are done using the general public as guInea pigs to beta test their tech, and I was right. This is just another stage of their narcissim and egomaniacle coveting for power, but fine, I’ll TAKE WHAT I CAN GET
SUE THE AI GENERATORS WITH THE MAXIMUM POWER OF THE LAW UNTIL THEIR GRANDCHILDREN ARE HOMELESS
AI is not being banned, though, just labelled so that it’s harder to pass off as real.
I believe that AI is also used to detect AI.
YouTube is going all-in with the use of AI on it’s own site.
The time is ripe for a Butlerian Jihad! (Yes, I read books!)
I watched a video from Benn Jordan. He claims to have discovered a way to detect AI generated music perfectly, and I think there is something to this. If I understood it, his tool essentially finds Mp3 artifacts in music files. AI doesn’t know about Mp3 encoding, but training on lots of Mp3 files as well as WAV files, it kind of averages them out. So the traces are in the parts we can’t hear. Something like that. I think it’s pretty clever.
Ya, I it’s not a ban. It will much harder to hide that something’s not AI. Since the major motivation to use it is financial, there is the cryptonite protecting against content farming low quality slop. A big step in the right direction. Just as we have to lock our front door because of the financial incentive for someone to take what’s in the house at night, without our consent. We don’t banish people outright, we protect what’s ours. So forcing AI disclosure is a long overdue locking of our front door, to mitigate further plunder.
I should be refraining from posting things when I’m tired and cranky. Although my big meany shtposts are still better than AI slop.
Bad tasting organic food is still better than good tasting flavored plastic.
Faithful are the wounds of a friend.
I don’t think our society has it in them to stop it at this point.
Can’t wait for Dune 3. The good side of AI: Making CGI like Dune. And tech support.
Ya I saw that too.
But people like him built their business back before AI took root. So now that they are above water; AI takeover won’t break them, as it will the working class. So the rich talking about the evils of something that hurts the poor is like paris hilton telling people not to be poor. Or the man up in his ivory tower asking starving people why are they so grumpy, “Life is great! What’s their problem?” Or the happily married man preaching sexual purity to incels, from his pleasure island. It’s a little cringe, is my point.
Just as the people who don’t see a problem with generative AI, go and look at what they made before AI. They don’t care about the theft because they didn’t have anything worth stealing anyway. So it doesn’t touch their house so what do they care, because people are selfish. I’m not being a dick, I’m serious. Consider the logic.
