Thanks for the great new version 12 of Wavelab!
I have one Problem: I miss the “soft delete” function in Wavelab 12, which was available in previous versions.
I need both for voice editing: the normal “delete” function, which deletes hard at the boundaries of the selection, and the “soft delete” function, which deletes with fades.
It is still there, but with a different approach. The new “crossfading” option is there for this. In combination with the various edit cut/delete/paste functions, it is actually much more flexible, as it can be on/off any time.
Smooth delete this. “Raw” delete is without crossfading OFF.
Thank you for the very quick reply.
I see. But how can I assign a keyboard shortcut to the combination “Delete” and “Crossfade” so that I can assign separate keyboard shortcuts to “Delete” and “Soft Delete”?
This is not possible. Functions like Delete, Mute, etc. already have factory presets, but not the Crossfading option, which is ON by default. However, you can add a shortcut for it.
I believe that in most cases, having crossfading ON is the better choice, which is why this change was made. The new design allows for more edit combinations than before, and it was not practical to duplicate every edit function as buttons, each with and without crossfading.
In version 12.0.40, I will add Alt+Shift+X as the factory shortcut for the crossfading option.
