I recently purchased a Softube Console 1 Compact, ilove it and the touch automation works great on everything but the FX sends. When I try to automate the send, it goes all jittery and no automation is written. I talked to Softube and apparently it works for them (not sure if was Cubase). Also, it works fine as long as automation isn’t on. As I said all other knobs work fine. Any ideas?
If anyone has (I know it’s new) a Console One Compact, could try automating the sends knob and let me know what happens? Greatly appreciated…
I don’t have the console channel 1 compact only the old full channel.
On this device the recording of the FX send automation is not jittery but sometimes the recording of the automation stops as if the hand has been removed.
In this case I have to remove the hand from the knob before the recording works again.
For the normal volume automation I don’t see this behavior.
Perhaps this could be fixed with a different automation mode setting in Cubase… I did not try to find a solution, I am faster drawing the automation via mouse and range tool, less automation points, exact ramps, but perhaps I am only old and to slow…

Thanks! As I said, all other knobs write automation just fine, even the volume and pan. This why I’m wondering if it’s a faulty unit, although with automation off, it controls all sends perfectly, weird…
Hi, I could reproduce the issue quite easily. In the end I could write some automation but I had to fight the pot since I would jitter around the starting point for a while, then start responding and writing automation. I am thinking too another automation mode could solve the problem but I have not tried it so far, just used the default mode (which always worked for me). To me this would look either like a Softube issue or a MIDI Remote issue.
I will report to Softube as well as soon as I have investigated a bit more. I have already reported other bugs or weird behaviors (visibility management, malfunctions when you insert the plugin on either input or output channels, compact mode showing disabled tracks or when the plugin is powered of in Cubase…).
Interesting, I haven’t tried to put it on inputs but I have on outputs and all is well, I haven’t used it in compact mode yet (I don’t think). That said, I love it!
I will have to try again since a new firmware has just landed. It brings MIDI CC feature to the Compact.
I tried to use it quickly this morning but was not able to make it work. My hope is this could allow for simultaneous Console 1 / stock strip control or event Console 1 / SSL strips.
I installed the new update and I don’t really notice a change.
I have been invited to the Softube forums and will report the issue there.
