Gearing up to move from PC to Mac Mini. Was always planning to get the Softube Consol 1 Mk III but I see that it is not officially supported on macOS Sequoia which is the operating system of the Mac Minis. Softube Support just confirmed that macOS Sequoia is not officially supported but there has been no reports of the Console 1 not working on a Mac Mini. Has anyone got a Mac Mini working with Console 1? It is a long shot I know but I want to avoid making an expensive (for me) mistake. Thanks.
Hi
From my experience no .I upgraded my Mac Studio and have nothing working correctly with my Softube console 1 .since up upgraded to Sequoia
I have my Console 1 working fine on Sequoia so far. The only annoyance is that I can’t hide the Console 1 app that must be running at all times. I can make it smaller but it just keeps getting in the way. On the PC I can minimise it. So far as your issue is concerned, while I may be wrong, from what I read at the outset (of changing from PC to Mac Mini) was that the Console 1 app (which must always be running) is VST2, whereas the Console 1 plugins are all VST 3. Could this be the issue you are having? I had to install Rosetta for some other VST2 plugins so I never really tried to get the Console 1 running before installing Rosetta. I think it would be wise to log the issues you are having with Softube - it may hasten their support for Sequoia which I’m sure will be imminent.
