How does one insert a solo (or tutti) indication over a multi-measure rest without it breaking that measure off as a separate measure? I want 5 + 8 with the “Pno. solo” over the 8, not 5 + 1 + 7:

How are you entering that text? Do you maybe have something else going on that’s breaking the second multi bar rest?
I had created a playing technique that I could introduce in all parts in the score and hide in the score. it works well except in the middle of multi-measure rests.
The text works well and I can hide it in the score. Thank you. I am not finding a way to quickly duplicate it in all the staves at the same time, however. Is that possible? Paste special doesn’t seem to do it.
If you want it to show on all parts, then you probably want system text instead of staff text. But I suspect you want it over all parts except piano.
With staff text, you can do all the usual things to duplicate it: copy/paste to a range of staves, Alt/Opt+click to individual staves, duplicate to staff above/below.
