Solo is inconsistent between tracks and mixer

  1. In this screenshot, observe how I have track 9, “HH Synth” selected at the top. It is green. It is MUTED.
  2. Now look at the mixer, HH Synth is selected but it is SOLOED.
  3. Look back up at the tracks. HH2 Synth is soloed.
  4. Now return the mixer view. HH2 Synth is muted.

I came across this when I was soloing tracks but I couldn’t hear anything. From my limited testing so far, unsoloing a few times or so “fixes” it however it easily happens again.

This feels like a bug that may deserve a quick patch.

I did additional testing. When I have a MIDI track routed to an instrument track, that MIGHT cause inconsistent display of Solo/Mute information.

In this screenshot, I soloed the MIDI track. The mixer shows an additional Soloed track: the instrument the MIDI is routed to. I expect both view to be consistent.

How do I ensure that Steinberg is making note of this bug or should I assume they will be aware of this post?
