I am having two specific workflow issues in Dorico 6 on my Mac that I can’t seem to figure out. First, regarding the solo shortcut, I am trying to solo a specific instrument using the Option + S command, but it doesn’t work at all and everything goes silent, leaving me with no sound. Is there a specific mode I need to be in, or a preference I need to change to make this shortcut work correctly? Second, I don’t know how to view different instruments in the MIDI window at the same time, so I would like to know how I can select and display multiple tracks simultaneously in that view. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
If you are using Note Performer, consider that NP sends the audio only to the first stereo Channel in Dorico. You can setup NP (from version 5) to send each instrument to a different channel (look for the instructions in NP manual), or use the NP mixer to mute and solo (clicking on the E icon).
To edit multiple instruments at the same time, on the left panel, click on the name of the instrument, then on the lock: it will appear a checkmark to View multiple instruments. Once checked, you can choose which instruments to see in the key editor, and which will be the primary one:
