SOLVED - Audio Mixdown problem - This is just nuts!

Latest Cubase 14 pro on a Windows 11 PC.

What is happening here? I have a 4 bar Groove Agent event playing 5 bass drum beats of increasing velocity. My left and right locators are set from 2.1.1.0 to 6.1.1.0

If I perform an Audio Mixdown of the Stereo Out (using the same locator markers) and import the audio file into the project, I end up with an audio event that starts at the right place but ends short - but more importantly, the timing of the recorded audio is wrong. It’s recorded the first bass drum beat before the bass drum instrument event has begun!!! And the timing between the resulting audio bass beats is different (faster) to how they are played on the instrument track??

I am at a total loss with this. I noticed the problem in a separate project and just created this test to see if I was going mad - and it seems that I am.

Please help!

It looks like a sample rate mixup. Try exporting at 48K.

Looks like you’ve exported at a different sample rate to your project. Note that the audio you mixed down is shorter than the markers you set.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

It’s very rare that I use anything other than the default sample rate values but I found this problem with a very old project from Cubase SX days that I found on an old drive and wanted to try to remix.

You’re a star.
