Hi there,
Today I just upgraded my RAM from 64 to 128 Gb (identical models) all works pretty in windows except Cubase that keeps on crashing.
I have updated any software in my system, video and sound card drivers, plugins… but still the issue remains. Sometimes Cubase crashes before I can start any project, sometimes I can play a random number of seconds before it crashes…
The crash file does not say a lot, it seems the error comes from Cubase accessing wrong memory location. I have not found a similar topic in the forum. Someone has an idea?
If everything was working before you added more RAM, then is it not logical to first suspect the RAM? Does the crash still happen if you remove the RAM you added? Did you test the system after you added the RAM?
Assuming you’re on Windows, try running Memtest86+ for a few hours … but with 128GB RAM, it might need to run a few days to thoroughly test.
Thank you for the tip but unfortunately the RAM is ok!
Since yesterday I have installed only the new 2 RAM modules, and had no more issues. So I can exclude the problem is the new RAM.
Consider that with the 4 RAM modules I cannot play more than 10 seconds, while now I can play an entire song with a Cubase video, with lot of instances connected to vienna, using lot of plugins and effects and while recording with OBS and rendering a 4K video
Hello,
After several reinstall of the DIMM I am not experiencing anymore the issue, so who knows? (and I am sure it was correctly seated also the first time… )
I will close the topic and thanks for your time helping ouy, really appreciated!
