[Solved] Extracted Audio from video is shorter than the video!!

Every time I import a video and extract the audio, the clip’s length is completely different from the original video - either it’s longer or shorter.

This is driving me nuts…

anyone?

Cubase Pro 9.5
iMac 27" Retina 5K 27" MacOS Mojave 10.14.6

The problem was that the video was converted again after export using ffmpeg and it somehow screwed up the video track in the MP4 container. Basically it added 1 frame.

I know this is old, but I’m wondering if you can help. I’m having an issue where I drop in video files to Cubase and the audio is just slightly longer than the video, I have to zoom in to see it. This extra length is more on longer files, making me paranoid that there will be drifting out of sync

I have no idea why it does this. It seems to do it with H264 files more than MOVs but I have found both where it happens, and some where it doesn’t. I’m very confused and wasted a whole day trying to work it out

if you can shed any more light on this I’d be grateful!
