AS I have found this wasted afternoon and evening this is going to be a problem. If you start a project in 7.06 for some reason you cant upgrade your project to 7.5.
If fingers crossed 7.07 becomes stable (I very much doubt it) what is the point of 7.5 if you have to recreate the project again?
From what I am finding 7.5 isn’t able to open any 7.06 files.
No one has said that we should be removing 7.06? is it safe to do so? if yes then those who did upgrade to 7.5 have no issues with the 7.07 thing.
I had 6.5 and then upgraded to 7.0. When I did that I found out that it was safe to remove the 6.5 installation as nothing was dependent upon it.
I understand the .5 thing. But if you release 7.5 how can you still be waiting to release 7.07 if 7.06 isn’t fixed… if you cant remove version 7.0 which hasn’t been made clear. If 7.5 is a separate program as you say that suggests 7.0 can be removed then? But why not call version 8 (or 15 - that is if SB have used the 0.5 numbering system of their software - it suggests a long pedigree!)
My opinion this was rushed to get it out on the Christmas market hence some of the reported pickles in 7.5.
Perhaps version 7.5.1 is just around the corner to fix what was not fixed in version 7.06 eg drop outs on VSTis. As I understand version 7.5 did not address this outstanding query from 7.06.
