Hydrasynth (old master keyboard) midi via ESI 16 port, then Anker USB into iPad.
Nektar LX61+ (new master keyboard) midi via Anker USB hub also into iPad.
Everything is fine using the Hydrasynth as a master keyboard.
Using the Nektar, midi note 62 is ignored by all Cubasis internal soft synths, all Audio Units and midi through routing to my MS2000 or D550. The note is not ignored by any Inter-App soft synths.
There is no midi effect, or filter on the track, and I can see the note on, velocity and note off events in midi-wrench, it’s just that the majority of Cubasis is refusing to play that D (note 62).
Any ideas for next step troubleshooting? I’m 99.9% certain it’s something in Cubasis, as Gadget and GarageBand and any other stand alone synths are playing perfectly. Hopefully someone has seen this although I did a search and nothing relevant came up.
All apps closed, rebooted iPad, launch Cubasis and created a new project (named after you! )
Using only the default Acoustic Piano, without touching any other setting in Cubasis, and yes, note 62 from the Nektar is not working. Played from the Hydrasynth, works just fine.
If I select an Inter-App synth, note 62 from the Nektar works fine.
I’m really confused. I’ve been using midi for 35 years and I’ve never seen anything like this!
Hi JasonP,
I have a Nektar Impact LX24 but don’t use it much (too small), but I have transposed up and down the keyboard and I have not had any issues with notes not playing. I am connected to iPad Air 4 using the supplied usb cable, I am using Cubasis 3 and I have tested the LX25 with Synthmaster 2, ButterSynth (both AUv3) and iM1 (IAA).
Can’t understand what is causing the problem
Mike
I am glad everything is now ok, I’ve been through the Nektar manual umpteen times in case I missed something, I never even give midi learn a second thought! to Lars.
